On Thursday, August 27th Community Organizers with Health Care for America Now will join with labor unions and community organizations to present a forum on the bills currently being debated about health care reform in the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate.
The two hour program, co-sponsored by Citizen Action of New York, the Western New York Area Labor Federation, SEIU 1199, CWA Nurses United, United Steel Workers, Hispanics United of Buffalo and Fiesta Latina 1120am will give highlights of the bills now in front of both Houses. There will be a thorough explanation of how the bills will work and what impact they will have both on those who have insurance now or those who lack health insurance coverage. There will be a portion of the program devoted to how to pay for health care reform and the different ideas that are being debated in Congress.
“There are so many myths and outright lies floating around about the health care reform bills,” said Organizer Diana Cihak of Citizen Action, “that we felt it was important to get the truth about what these bills actually contain and how they will work for ordinary Western New York residents.”
