U.S. Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand and Charles E. Schumer, both D-N.Y., said their farm aid amendment has passed that would provide resources for farmers devastated by Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee.

The provision would invest an additional $110 million for a total of $437.2 million to support the Emergency Conservation Program and the Emergency Watershed Program that provide emergency services and resources for agricultural communities following natural disasters.
