Improvements to the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus, the Outer Harbor Trail and Interstate 86 are among the infrastructure projects in Western New York that could move forward under President Obama’s jobs bill, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand said Tuesday.
The bill would bring nearly $3 billion to New York State and support approximately 38,800 jobs in the state, said Gillibrand, D-N. Y.
“I know New Yorkers are ready to get back to work,” Gillibrand said. “And there’s no shortage of projects waiting to get started that can revitalize our communities and attract new businesses, from rebuilding roadways, railways and runways to renovating empty homes and outdated office buildings.”
“Each day we wait to start these projects and create the jobs to do them, we delay our full economic recovery,” she added.
