U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand will testify at a Senate hearing to examine insider trading in Congress today, Thursday, December 1 at 2:30 PM in the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.

In November, Senator Gillibrand led a bipartisan group of 13 Senators in introducing the STOCK Act, their legislation to redefine insider trading to include knowledge gained from Congressional work and service, create rules and reporting requirements, and require “political intelligence” consultants to register as lobbyists. Senator Gillibrand has been a leading advocate for making Congress more transparent and accountable. When first elected, she became the first member of Congress to post her official daily schedule, all earmark requests, and personal financial disclosure form on her official Congressional website.
