Two groups that are supporting Occupy Buffalo—Food Not Bombs, who bring us lunch every Saturday, and the Buffalo Barn-raisers, who post and host events related to Occupy Buffalo—are having events this weekend.

The Stamplickers (Amy’s Place dance music cover band) and Sister Shade (Pat Cain’s band) will be playing. We’ll be raffling off items and gift cards from local businesses including Campus Wheel Works, 5 Points Bakery, Amy’s Place, Blue Wave Martial Arts & Rusted Grain. There will be snacks.
Food Not Bombs is an organization dedicated to preparing and sharing free healthy vegan meals made from food that would otherwise be discarded. Food Not Bombs shares food in protest of war and poverty. BuffaloFNB@gmail.com

Buffalo Barn Raisers, in collaboration with Sugar City andBuffalo First!, are hosting Sunday Soup. Sunday Soup is a grassroots micro-funding initiative that invites attendants to pay a small price for a shared meal (potluck style, $5 with a dish; $10 without), the proceeds of which will be given as a grant to support a community-oriented project voted on by everyone at the event.
