Buffalo Sabres coach Lindy Ruff wasn’t running team practice Tuesday.
Ruff suffered three broken ribs during Monday’s practice when he was hit by defenseman Jordan Leopold.
Leopold went crashing to the ice and ran into the back legs of an unsuspecting Ruff, who tumbled and landed on his right side.
Ruff, 51, is in his 14th season as the club’s coach and is the winningest coach in franchise history.
Sabres assistant coach James Patrick ran practice in Ruff’s absence.
