Healthy foods have become an international passion with the likes of Food Revolution’s Jamie Oliver leading the charge in the fight for growing, serving and eating food that is truly nourishing.
In WNY, there is a Buffalo-based not-for-profit dedicated to growing and distributing healthy foods within an educational framework that teaches career skills and pays for those skills. It’s called the Massachusetts Avenue Project (MAP) and the unique program has been recognized nationally as one of five innovative models centered on promoting more sustainable and resilient food systems in the United States.
WNYMedia videographer Marc Odien and I spent a day on the MAP farm to see exactly how this project works. Watch and enjoy this tasty slice of “can -do” inspiration…..and feel free to share with anyone who might enjoy….help a girl get a job, won’t you?
