Listen to the historic sounds of WKBW-TV’s house musicians Johnny & Jimmy. For 14 years, beginning in 1964, “Dialing for Dollars” was one of the most popular locally produced programs in Buffalo television history. The show debuted with hosts Nolan Johannes and Liz Dribbin. Dave Thomas joined the program after Liz left for CBS New York in 1969. Dialing for Dollars featured guest appearances by big-name stars, cooking and fashion segments, musical entertainment with Jimmy Edwin & Johnny Banaszak and unforgettable call-in contests. The program’s name was changed to “AM. Buffalo” in 1978. The music tracks accompanying this feature are from a 45rpm record featuring studio band Johnny & Jimmy and come from the collection of Mark Wozniak. Historic & Hip….Forgotten Buffalo.
