With the help of WGRZ Channel 2 on your side, Walmart, Corporate Sponsors, the Buffalo Sabres, and of course the good people of Western New York, the 2012 “2 Pack a Back Pack” school supply drive was a massive success. Back packs and school supplies were collected at 7 local Walmart locations on Friday August 17, 2012.  Our goal this year was to provide 5,000 children in WNY with the supplies needed to start a successful school year. Thank s to you; the Boys & Girls Clubs of Buffalo distributed over 6,400 filled back packs to WNY children in need of schools supplies!

Over 6,400 WNY students are starting their year off right thanks to the generous citizens of WNY!!

“For these kids, they are more than bags of school supplies; they’re backpacks filled with hope from generous members of the community” said Diane Rowe, Chief Professional of the Officer Boys & Girls Clubs of Buffalo, “We had over 45 corporate sponsors, but a lot of our gifts came from individuals who showed up at a Walmart and dropped off that pad of paper, or that box of crayons. Without them, we could not do this.”
