Tonight marks the beginning of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.

This evening, many New Yorkers will gather with friends and family to celebrate new beginnings and reflect on the year that has passed. Today, we join those New Yorkers in celebrating the start of this new year.

During this holy period for many New York residents, we once again celebrate the diversity that strengthens and energizes our state and redouble our efforts to work together to create a better future for all.

I extend my best wishes to all for a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year. L’Shanah Tovah.
