SPCA Paws for Love volunteers helped kicked off an exciting, new program this morning: visitation at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport to help reduce anxiety and stress experienced by nervous passengers!

Buffalo is one of only seven cities in the nation with such a program. The SPCA currently has 22 dogs enrolled in airport visitation, making Buffalo the second-largest airport visitation program in the country (Los Angeles leads with 30 dogs enrolled; other cities include San Jose, Ft. Lauderdale, San Antonio, Grand Rapids, and Miami).

The dogs and their volunteers will also work in the airport’s Preview Program, involving preview visits to the airport by families with autistic or developmentally disabled children.
