The first ever Buffalo Brewer’s Festival, featuring more than 30 New York State Brewers and approximately 70 different craft beers, will be held at Canalside, onSaturday, July 19, from 3 to 10 p.m. The event is hosted by the Buffalo Niagara Brewers Association (BNBA) in partnership with Canalside, and features live music by national headlining artist J.J. Grey & Mofro and Tumbleweed Wanderers, as well as regional favorites Big Leg Emma, Steam Donkeys and Pine Fever.
New York’s craft beverage and agriculture industries have both experienced incredible growth under Governor Andrew Cuomo’s leadership and greatly benefited from the groundbreaking initiatives created at the State’s first-ever Wine, Beer and Spirits Summit in 2012.
Breweries featured at the event include Adirondack, Barrier Brewing Co., Birdland Brewing Co., Blackbird Cider, Brooklyn Brewery, Captain Lawrence Brewing Co., CB Craft Brewers, Community Beer Works, Ellicottville Brewing Co, Flying Bison Brewing Co., Galaxy, Gordon Biersch, Grimm, Hamburg Brewing Company, Horseheads, Ithaca, Keuka, Lake Placid Pub & Brewery, New Buffalo Brewing Co., Old First Ward, Ommegang, Pan Am Grill & Brewery, Pearl Street Grill & Brewery, Resurgence, Ringside Beer, Roc, Rogers Beer, Rohrbach, Saranac, Shmaltz, Single Cut Beersmiths, Southern Tier Brewing Co., Spider Bite Beer Co., St Lawerence, Three Heads Brewing, and Woodcock Brothers Brewing Company.
“Our festival is truly like no other,” said Willard Brooks, chairperson of the BNBA. “We’ve assembled New York State’s top brewers, farmers and food artisans for a day-long celebration of the burgeoning craft beer scene. If you love locally-produced craft beer, great tasting food and live music on the Buffalo waterfront, then you won’t want to miss this event.”
Another highlight of the festival will be the “Meet-the-Brewer” Tent that features special brewer-led beer pairings with cheese, charcuterie and chocolate. Visitwww.BuffaloBrewersFestival.com for more information.
“The Buffalo Brewer’s Festival at Canalside brings our brewing heritage and culture full circle to Buffalo’s inspirational waterfront,” said John Russo, founder of Hamburg Brewing Company. “It is a consumer-engaging event that celebrates what we Buffalonians enjoy most…FUN!”
