October 20, 2014 – Expert antique appraisers from The Antique Appraisers Road Show will be at Burchfield Penney Art Center in Buffalo, New York Saturday November 8th and Sunday November 9th. The art center located at 1300 Elmwood Avenue, Buffalo, New York will host the event both days between 9 am and 6 pm.  Proceeds from the show will be used to benefit the Burchfield Penney Art Center. The event offers everyone the opportunity to have their heirlooms and collectibles appraised. Nine specialists will be available to talk with directly.

Now on its 15th road show, this event is in Buffalo for the first time. The show started in 2011 and was held in various cities throughout New York State. During this time a number of important antique finds have been made, which include a one million dollar Chinese Imperial Zitan chair in Lake George, New York.  Also discovered were a number of surprises at all price levels.

Featured during both days in Buffalo include experts in ceramics, jewelry, silver, furniture, stamps, coins, toys, military relics, books, sports memorabilia, Chinese and Japanese objects, rugs, tapestries, prints, posters, paintings, drawings, sculpture and other collectibles.

Additionally, a presentation followed by question and answers on the benefits and pitfalls of buying and selling fine art will be led by Walter Bazar, an expert in 19th and 20th century painting. Collin Fraser, the former head of Christie’s stamp department will offer a presentation and discussion on stamps. Other expert talks will be interspersed throughout both appraisal days. Start times for the talks can be found by calling (518) 242-0858.

A $5 fee will be charged per appraisal, at the door. Funds will go to support the Burchfield Penney Art Center.

Ample free and quick access parking makes it easy to spend a relaxed and fulfilling day talking with experts while experiencing the thrill for potential discoveries.

The Burchfield Penney Art Center is located on the campus of Buffalo State, in the heart of Buffalo’s museum district. For more information about the appraisal day, please visit, or call (518) 242-0858
