Miss America 1993 arriving in Buffalo to Co-Host Miss Buffalo Scholarship Competition

Buffalo, NY – Former Miss America 1993 Leanza Cornett coming to Buffalo to Co-host the2016 Miss Buffalo Scholarship Competition on February 28, 2016 at Buffalo State College 2 pm Rockwell Hall Auditorium 1300 Elmwood Ave. Buffalo, NY.

Leanza has a long list of accomplishments including host of Entertainment Tonight, Who Wants to Marry a Millionaire and guest appearances on Melrose Place and Fear Factor.

Executive Director Michael Terranogli says, “We are very pleased and excited to have Leanza Cornet grace our stage this year. She is a true beauty, a very good representative of the Miss America Organization and someone who our contestants can aspire to be.”

The Miss Buffalo Scholarship Competition is an age old tradition in Buffalo having been in existence since the 1920’s and is a preliminary to the Miss New York State and Miss America competitions being part of the Miss America Organization.  This year’s competition consists of 18 contestants ranging in age from 17 to 24.

This year it is a movie inspired theme as it falls on the same day as the Academy Awards and promises to be a great show, with Executive Producer, three time Telly Award winner, Michael La Rocca producing the show.

Entering the competition is free and open to all girls in the Buffalo and surrounding areas ages 17 to 24 – high school seniors and up. The girls will be competing in the following categories: Talent, Lifestyle and Fitness, Evening Wear, Private Interview and On-stage Question.
