The Buffalo Geological Society will host its 48th Annual Gem,
Mineral and Fossil Show on April 2-3, 2016. This year’s theme is
“Crinolds: Feathers of the Sea.”

The event will be held in the Market & Grange Building, The
Fairgrounds in Hamburg, 5600 McKinley Parkway, Hamburg, NY 14075.

One-day admission is $5/ person. Two-day admission is $7/ person.
Scouts in uniform and children 12 and under are free.

Vendors at the event carry a wide range of mineral specimens and
fossils as well as precious and semi-precious stone jewelry.

Demonstrators include stone carvers, jewelry designers, and other
lapidary artists.

Local organizations, including Penn Dixie Paleontological &
Outdoor Education Center and the Buffalo Geological Society, will
have displays and information about services and opportunities
that their organizations offer.

Young scientists can visit the “Mini-Mine” where they will be
able to search for mineral specimens in a faux mine setting.
Additionally, “Grandpa’s Corner” gives children the opportunity
to create their own works of art in sand.
