Lockport, NY – On Wednesday, July 27 Valu Home Centers volunteers, Valu Crew, cleaned up the overgrown courtyard at North Park Junior High School to create a welcoming space that students and faculty will be able to enjoy this coming Fall.

Valu Crew volunteers spent the morning pulling weeds, trimming back overgrown shrubs, removing debris, painting doors to match the school’s colors, and preparing a wall for a mural to be painted in the near future by a past NPJHS student, Angelina Emmons. Her original design will add an atmosphere of creativity and inspiration for all who gather in this newly beautified space.

Valu Home Centers heard about this great project from Marion Singleton, a teacher at North Park Junior High School who had been working hard alongside a small group of students to give the courtyard a new life.

Since Valu Home Centers opened their flagship location in 1968, and their Lockport location in 1970, they have been fiercely committed to giving back to the communities that they serve.
