In this first of my four interviews from Ireland we meet Jim and Kate Nicholson, owners of Lismacue Manor located in Bansha, Co. Tipperary. The Lismacue home and lands have been the property of Kate’s family since the 1700’s and she and Jim have lived and raised their family there since 1976.

Jim describes their Lismacue life as a variation of Downton Abbey, and as you will hear in this first video, like the celebrated PBS series, the Nicholson’s have experienced joy, sorrow and drama throughout the 40 years in which they have determinedly fought for their home and their land.

(Intro music, “Sliabh na mBan” played by Eugene Lambe.)
