At the same time, Friedes has not rested on her writing reputation. Over the last decade, this talented woman has been crafting screenplays of varied natures, the most recent of which focuses on a story of historical importance and unimaginable greed and violence.

And as in Iron Jawed Angels, Friedes tells the story through the eyes of the woman who experienced the torture, as a way of giving her a voice.
