Following her graduation from college, Liz Allen decided she wanted to return to Washington, and undertake more work at the State Department where she had interned during her senior year. It was work for which she felt well-suited and kept her comfortably situated on the non-political side of Washington’s professional world.

Then in 2008, a young senator from Illinois decided to vie for the Democratic candidacy for the office of President of the the United States.

His name was Barrack Obama and his ideals and his candidacy changed Liz Allen’s life.
