The people of NY-27 have spoken, and they said “No” to the GOP scheme to replace Chris Collins with the same force with which they’ll say “Yes” to Nate McMurray on Election Day.

The residents of Eden and Clarence were simply not willing to sacrifice the integrity of their local governments just because Republicans chose to endorse a candidate who was under investigation.

And now, after weeks of attempting this fraud on the voters of the 27th Congressional District, Republican bosses are angry that Chris Collins has refused to go along.

It isn’t Collins’ indictment for securities fraud that worries them, his attempt to eliminate healthcare for millions of Americans with preexisting conditions, or his vote to raise middle-class taxes by eliminating the state and local income tax deduction.

It is his decision not to take part in their unfair, fraudulent scheme that has them outraged.

This community should never have been dragged through this process, and those who are responsible will be held accountable in November.
