For the fourth time since Kevin McCarthy was deposed in early October, Republicans have selected a new nominee to take his place.

They’ve rallied around Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA), best known for helping spearhead GOP lawmakers’ legal attempts to overturn the 2020 election. While Republicans were exuberant late last night as they rallied around Johnson, there were a couple dozen members missing and a few “present” votes.
