One of two escaped Arkansas inmates captured: Authorities

PINE BLUFF, Ark. (NewsNation) — One of the two men who escaped from an Arkansas detention center was recaptured, authorities said.

Noah Roush, 22, is back in custody after deputies received a 911 call saying he was in an abandoned home.

Captain Yohance Brunson with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office arrived and spotted Roush, who attempted to run away. Brunson and other local authorities chased Roush on foot. Once captured, he was taken to the Dub Brassell Adult Detention Center in Pine Bluff.

Roush was being held on suspicion of residential burglary and theft of property and was a suspect in a homicide.

Jatonia Bryant, 23, who also escaped from the detention center is still being sought by authorities.

He was being held on probable cause for capital murder.

He is approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs about 145 pounds.

Police investigating discovered that the two escaped at approximately 10 p.m. Saturday. It wasn’t until Monday that jail personnel found the inmates had escaped the facility.

“They had made access through one of the showers in the pod area they were in, creating a hole there and subsequently making their way to the roof. They made a hole there and then climbed off the building,” Bean said.

A $2,500 reward remains for information leading to Bryant’s arrest, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
