Police respond to Wisconsin school shooting, threat neutralized

(NewsNation) — A Wisconsin school district says a threat has been neutralized after an active shooter situation at Mount Horeb Middle School Wednesday.

Police responded to reports of an active shooter late Wednesday morning and continue to be on the scene.

The school says they have no reports of individuals being harmed, with the exception of the alleged shooter.

The individual did not breach the entryway of the school but the students remain in lockdown for the time being, the school posted on Facebook.

Local police have given permission for the intermediate center students to reunite with their families. These students were taken to an alternate safe site and will be transported to the school’s reunification center. Middle school students and staff remain in lockdown.
