Statement from Attorney General James in Response to Governor Cuomo’s “State of the State” Address

NEW YORK—In response to today’s “State of the State” address given by Governor Cuomo, Attorney General Letitia James released the following statement:

“I am optimistic about the proposals laid out today by Governor Cuomo with initiatives I have long supported at the forefront, such as codifying Roe v. Wade and passing the New York State Dream Act. And as someone who was a lone voice on this issue just one year ago, I especially commend statewide efforts to legalize the adult recreational use of marijuana— ending a prohibition that has plagued communities of color for far too long.”
