JUDGE FINDS CHEEKTOWAGA MAN GUILTY OF DISORDERLY CONDUCT FOR YELLING RACIST REMARKS TOWARD VICTIMS

Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announces that Cheektowaga Town Court Justice David Stevens found Richard T. Stasiak, 67, of Cheektowaga, guilty of one count of Disorderly Conduct (violation). The defendant was acquitted of the misdemeanor charge. Justice Stevens rendered his decision this afternoon following a non-jury trial earlier today.

On Monday, March 20, 2023, at approximately 12:00 p.m., the defendant used abusive or obscene language toward the victims in a parking lot outside of a grocery store on Walden Avenue in the Town of Cheektowaga. The defendant yelled racial slurs toward the victims because of a belief or perception regarding the victims’ race. The incident was captured on cell phone video.

Today, Stasiak was sentenced to a one-year conditional discharge under the conditions that he continue mental health treatment and write a letter of apology to the victims. A final order of protection was issued for both victims, which remains in effect for the next two years.

DA Keane commends the Cheektowaga Police Department for their work in this investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Leah A. Higgins and Ryan A. Fortuna of the Justice Courts Bureau.

‘Hoax!’ Trump responds to Jack Smith hearing with unhinged rant from Stephen Miller

President Donald Trump responded to former special counsel Jack Smith's first public testimony by sharing a video of aide Stephen Miller shouting about "the Russiagate hoax."

As cable news stations fixated on Smith, Trump responded with a post on Truth Social.

"Comey, Clapper, Brennan, Obama, Monaco, all conspired together, all worked together to try to sabotage, undermine, unravel the democratic institutions and structures of this country," Miller rants in the video posted by Trump. "The Russiagate hoax, the Russia gate conspiracy and all of the assaults against our liberties that went with it."

"The pre-dawn raids, the handcuffing of innocent Americans," he continues. "The removal of his national security advisor, One fake indictment, one fake charge after another, the special counsel, all of it, was a unrelenting attempt to overthrow the government the American people voted for."

"I cannot find words harsh enough to condemn the conduct of these conspirators, these insurrectionists."

For his part, Smith insisted Trump "willfully broke the law."

"Rather than accept his defeat in the 2020 election, President Trump engaged in a criminal scheme to overturn the results and prevent the lawful transfer of power," the former prosecutor noted. "After leaving office in January of 21, President Trump illegally kept classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago Social Club and repeatedly tried to obstruct justice to conceal his continued retention of those documents. Highly sensitive national security information was held in a ballroom and a bathroom."

Trump attacks ‘people I can’t stand’ in crowd at speech: ‘I would screw them if I could’

President Donald Trump lamented that he couldn't "screw" people whom he didn't like during a rant at the World Economic Forum.

While speaking to CEOs in Davos on Wednesday, Trump bragged that companies were building plants in the U.S.

"It's amazing what's going on. Look, it's amazing. We've never had anything like it or close. Nobody else has it," he remarked. "I don't even ask anybody how you're doing now. It's like everybody is making so much money."

"And we have so many people in this room that have done a job," he continued. "I said, you've doubled your net worth since I've been president, right? He said, yeah, even more than that. They would say even more. We're doing even better than that."

But Trump's remarks took a turn as he spotted a few perceived enemies in the room.

"In a way, I'm jealous. In a way, I'm upset. There are a couple of people in the room," he said. "I can't stand them, and they've become very rich. There's nothing I can do about it."

"I would screw them if I could, but I can't do it, right?" he added. "I can't do it. I would have had a chance, or I could just take them and say, you can't do what Apple's doing, but you're not allowed to do that, Newt Gingrich, right? We can't do it."

"But I would love to do it, really, you know? It's one of those things, but everybody's making a lot of money."
