The Buffalo Sabres beat the Ottawa Senators 3-2 on March 25, 2025. The win marked Lindy Ruff’s 600th career win as head coach with the Sabres. This makes him the second NHL head coach to accomplish the feat with one team. Ottawa lead 1-0 for most of the first period, with a goal attempt by JJ Peterka being called back for offsides. With just 1:29 remaining in the first, Peterka made a spinning pass to Jack Quinn, who scored on a one-timer, evening the game. Ottawa took the lead early in the second, but was met with a response from Jacob Bernard-Docker, tying the game 2-2. This was Bernard-Docker’s first goal as a Sabre after being traded from Ottawa at the trade deadline. Tage Thompson scored early in the third to take the 3-2 lead on a pass from Zach Benson. James Reimer made 32 saves in the matchup.
