The Buffalo Sabres faced a 7-4 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on April 13, 2025. This was Buffalo’s final road game of the season. Jake Guentzel put the puck in the net first for Tampa. Buffalo had a response soon after, as Jiri Kulich scored with less than a minute left in the first. With 7.9 seconds left in the period, Peyton Krebs notched another thanks to an assist from Jack Quinn. Tampa scored four more in the second period to bring the score to 5-2. After another Lightning goal early in the third, Alex Tuch scored on the power play to add one to Buffalo’s tally. Sam Lafferty scored as well to close the third.
