With Ottawa in the lead, Ryan McLeod tied up the game in the second period on a short-handed goal. This was followed by three more Sabres goals in the second, with one from Alex Tuch and two from Jason Zucker. McLeod and Quinn each scored their second goals of the night in the third period, and Jiri Kulich closed the game with an empty net goal. Alex Lyon made 32 saves in the matchup.
Zach Benson had four assists on the night, in his first game back after being out of the lineup due to injury. Josh Doan had three assists and Rasmus Dahlin had two.
