Honoring Sgt. Heath “Mac” McMillin | Buffalo Sabres Military Appreciation Night

After he completes his training through the Pawsitive for Heroes program, the Buffalo Sabres 2025-26 team dog Mac will become a service animal for local Iraq War veteran Jay Arlington. Recently, Jay shared the story of Mac’s namesake, Sgt. Heath "Mac" McMillin, who was killed in action while the two were deployed together in July 2003. For the first time, Jay met Heath’s widow Kelly and son Michael to share memories and to introduce them to the pup who will carry on Heath’s legacy. The Sabres will celebrate this story on Military Appreciation Night on March 25, 2026.
