‘Paid troublemakers’: Trump alarmed by ruckus at GOP town halls after first-month chaos
President Donald Trump took notice of the ruckus at Republican town hall events after his first month in office was marked by chaos.
The president spoke out about the town halls in a Monday post on his Truth Social platform.
"Paid 'troublemakers' are attending Republican Town Hall Meetings. It is all part of the game for the Democrats, but just like our big LANDSLIDE ELECTION, it's not going to work for them!" Trump wrote.
NBC News reported that Republicans had largely canceled town hall meets amid fear of blowback from Trump's actions.
"A Republican lawmaker who spoke to NBC News on the condition of anonymity to avoid publicly divulging internal party strategy, said that the RNC has been helpful in making suggestions about how House Republicans can handle the situation but that it stopped short of trying to impose an impossible-to-enforce moratorium," NBC said.

One Republican senator who went through with a town hall was swamped by people mad at Trump.
Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS) quickly ended the town hall event last week after he experienced a wave of backlash over Trump's DOGE-related cuts.

Pro-MAGA reporter Brian Glenn, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's (R-GA) boyfriend, claimed he received "thousands of death threats" after asking Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about his wardrobe at an Oval Office meeting last week.
On Monday, Glenn reflected on the meaning behind Zelensky's decision not to wear a suit in his meeting with President Donald Trump.
"Why does this man continue to go see heads of nations get hundreds of billions of dollars, be in the highest offices around the world, and absolutely wear that silly little green jumpsuit, which you're not currently in the war in that country," Glenn said on Real America's Voice. "Why can't you show some respect and dress up and be in the highest level?"
"Sometimes you can judge a book by its cover and by him not showing respect," he continued. "And obviously, the wardrobe reflected his attitude, which we later found out about six and a half minutes after that question."
"That's when things got heated up. So it was a reflection of his genuine disrespect he has for this country."

Glenn said the question had taken a toll on his personal life.
"The feedback that I have personally gotten from, I would consider, America first people, the base, has been huge," he revealed. "But I've received thousands of death threats."
"I currently have a police unit at my house in Texas because they're saying that they're going to find me and harm me and things like that," he added. "So it has been a very serious issue."

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton's press conference to attack his Democratic rival, state Rep. James Talarico, went off the rails on Tuesday as reporters repeatedly asked him about his own political scandals — ultimately driving him to cut the event off early and run away.
The event was a gathering of Texas sheriffs, intended to focus on police issues and attack Talarico for supposedly wanting to defund law enforcement.
"General, I wanted to give you a chance to respond to State Representative Talarico and his campaign," said one reporter. "They've made a lot about the reports that have come out, one in the New York Times, about you acquiring properties worth—"
"Can we keep this to law enforcement?" Paxton said, cutting him off.
"I'm giving you the opportunity to answer—" the reporter said.
"I'd like to — because we're here with the sheriffs, I'd like to keep today to law enforcement," said Paxton. "So that's what I'm going to hand you. Questions about law enforcement."
Paxton's aide then called on another reporter.
"Will you answer a question about why you voted in Collin County?" asked the reporter. "Clear that up?"
Paxton shook his head with agitation, as his aide said, "So we're just going to do questions on law enforcement today, because we're joined with 22 amazing law enforcement officers."
Shortly after this, as another reporter tried to ask a question, the aide started waving her hand, saying, "We're going to get out of here. We're going to get out of here," as Paxton walked off the stage, leaving the sheriffs to stand around.
