‘His days as Speaker are numbered’: Marjorie Taylor Greene renews threat to Mike Johnson

U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) has tried to build bridges between himself and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) since she first raised the threat to oust him as Speaker. However, Sunday, Greene renewed her vow to take him down.

After initially threatening to bounce Johnson from his gig as the leader of House Republicans, Greene backed off and insisted that Republican lawmakers go home and listen to their constituents about it. This was also after Donald Trump publicly backed the Speaker.

Now, it appears she is back on the warpath against the Louisiana conservative.

Greene on Sunday shared a report suggesting that Ukrainian leader Zelensky had announced "that Ukraine is working on a security agreement with the U.S. that will fix levels of support for the next 10 years."

"The $61 billion was just the beginning. The next two U.S. presidents won’t be able to switch it off," the individual stated.

In response, Greene claimed "Permanent funding for Ukraine is exactly what they want and Mike Johnson will give it to them."

"Peace is not an option for them because it doesn’t fit the government appropriations war business and economic model, which is vile and disgusting," she added. "They’re plan is keep funding the proxy war with Russia in Ukraine and when that doesn’t work, after all the Ukrainian men have been slaughtered, next they will put American troops on the ground."

Then, she went off on Johnson.

"Johnson will do whatever Biden/Schumer want in order to keep the Speaker’s gavel in his hand, but he has completely sold out the Republican voters who gave us the majority," she said. "His days as Speaker are numbered."

Kentucky representative Thomas Massie also shared Greene's post on his own social media account Sunday.

‘Maggot Hagerman!’ Trump rages at NYT reporter who says supporters are skipping his trial

Former President Donald Trump has a new demeaning nickname for Maggie Haberman, the New York Times reporter who revealed unflattering details about his criminal trial behavior and challenged his excuses for a lack of protesters outside.

The former president laid out his new insults Tuesday in a lengthy Truth Social rant in which he also argued his supporters had been blocked by police from gathering outside the Manhattan court house where his hush money trial is unfolding.

"Thousands of people were turned away from the Courthouse in Lower Manhattan by steel stanchions and police, literally blocks from the tiny side door from where I enter and leave," Trump wrote. "It is an armed camp to keep people away."

This is a repeat of an earlier claim debunked by reporters at the scene who say it is blatantly false.

"Maggot Hagerman of The Failing New York Times, falsely reported that I was disappointed with the crowds," Trump declared. "No, I’m disappointed with Maggot, and her lack of writing skill, and that some of these many police aren’t being sent to Columbia and NYU to keep the schools open and the students safe. The Legal Scholars call the case a Scam that should never have been brought. I call it Election Interference and a personal hit job by a conflicted and corrupt Judge who shouldn’t be allowed to preside over this Political Hoax. New York Justice is being reduced to ashes, and the World is breathlessly watching. Hopefully, Appellate Courts can save it, and all of the companies that are fleeing to other jurisdictions. They can no longer take a chance on New York Justice!"

Haberman, who has been covering Trump for years, long enjoyed close access to him while he was in the White House, even posing with him for a smiling photo. But Trump's attitude toward Haberman has soured as she has covered his behavior in the courtroom, including his embarrassing inability to stay awake.

Trump's other claim in the post, that huge crowds of his supporters turned up to rally for him in Manhattan and were turned away by police, also appears not to be true, as NBC News' Vaughn Hillyard posted video footage of the streets around the courthouse open to traffic, and barely anyone demonstrating in support of the former president.

Haberman herself has also debunked the idea that local streets were closed off during the trial, a point that has further enraged Trump.

Trump losing control of Marjorie Taylor Greene as she ignores his latest request: reporter

Former President Donald Trump has personally reached out to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) to get her to end her crusade against House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) — but, reported CNN's Melanie Zanona on Wednesday, she is not dissuaded.

Johnson appears set to survive the upcoming vote next week brought by Greene to vacate his office, with House Democrats planning to supply the necessary votes to stop another round of chaos similar to that following the ouster of his predecessor Kevin McCarthy. But Greene, enraged over his decision to allow Ukraine defense aid to pass the House, is determined to move ahead with the vote anyway, which she claims will put everyone in the House on record where they stand.

"Greene says she's actually planning to force a vote next week," said anchor Brianna Keilar, turning to Zanona. "How's this going to play out?"

"Well, even though Speaker Mike Johnson is expected to keep his job, there is still a lot of anger towards Marjorie Taylor Greene for pushing ahead with this move," said Zanona.

"Even Donald Trump doesn't want her to follow through," Zanona continued — which follows his decision to hold a press conference with Johnson a few weeks ago expressing his confidence in the speaker. "I'm told that he communicated to the head of the RNC that he wanted him to relay to the House Republican Conference during a meeting yesterday that Trump wants to see the party united ahead of November, but so far that has not deterred Greene."

"She's planning to call it this motion next week," she added. "When that happens, leadership is expected to quickly tee up a vote to kill or table that motion."
