The public is invited to a presentation on the Governor’s RiverBend Clean Energy Project that includes solar panel and LED lighting plants. This presentation will be held in conjunction with the SC Niagara Group’s Climate and Clean Energy (CACE) Writers Group meeting on January 14th.
Two of Governor Cuomo’s key representatives will present information and answer questions.
Thomas O’Brien – RiverBend Project Manager and the Associate VP for Innovation and Infrastructure at the Albany College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering, and
Christina Orsi – Regional Director of the Empire State Development Corporation and the Executive Director of the WNY Regional Economic Development Council (REDC)
The RiverBend project, part of the governor’s ‘Buffalo Billion’ promise, is a $225 million state investment to create a new campus center of clean-energy on a former brownfield site in Buffalo. If successful, it will create 850 new jobs at the former Republic Steel site in south Buffalo.
The meeting will also cover the purpose and possible benefits of the Sierra Club’s Energy Committee’s writers group as well as discuss several articles and ideas for new articles.
