Bellavia, Wilkinson boost former East Aurora mayor for State post

(EAST AURORA, NY) – Conservative Republican candidate for New York State Assembly David DiPietro today announced that he was endorsed by two leading Western New York veterans advocates, Iraq War veteran David Bellavia and Vietnam War veteran Ted Wilkinson. Both decorated combat veterans revealed their support for the former East Aurora mayor at a standing-room-only Republican and Conservative Party meeting honoring DiPietro at the East Aurora American Legion Post on Thursday.

“I know David DiPietro very well; he’s a man I admire for his integrity and devotion to his family and his community,” said Bellavia, a former Republican candidate for Congress. “Veterans who enjoy American Legion Post 362 in the Town of Aurora know David gets things done – he’s personally responsible for raising state funding for the impressive F-4 jet fighter displayed so prominently at the Post, honoring veterans who sacrificed their lives defending our nation.”

“David DiPietro has proven his commitment to veterans time and time again and I am proud to support his candidacy,” said Wilkinson, who serves as a New York State director of the Vietnam Veterans for America. “He has spent a great deal of time raising money for the Blue Star Memorial Marker Program of the National Garden Clubs to honor those who have served in the Armed Forces. One of those tributes is prominently displayed outside Post 362 where he’s a member and I know David is working to assure more are placed across Western New York.”

Both Bellavia and Wilkinson urged Republican veterans to vote for David DiPietro for New York State Assembly at the September 13th GOP Primary.

“I am humbled by the support of celebrated war heroes like David Bellavia and Ted Wilkinson and honored to have their endorsement,” DiPietro said. “The men and women of the Armed Forces deserve our heartfelt gratitude and I look forward to working with David and Ted to assure our veterans always receive the unwavering esteem and support of the State of New York – especially when it comes to health care and other benefits they earned defending our nation.”

DiPietro is the endorsed candidate of the Republican town committees of Eden, Marilla and Aurora. He was also recently endorsed by the New York State Conservative Party and will appear on the Conservative Party ballot line in November. He won Wyoming County and four Erie County towns in the heavily contested 2010 Republican Primary for State Senate. Today, DiPietro is stronger than ever before and his support grows daily because he is the only candidate for the 147th Assembly seat with a pristine record of achieving real tax savings – a top priority for all Republican and Conservative voters.
