Erie County Legislator Lynn Marinelli to take job with the Empire State Development Office:
I am thrilled to announce I have accepted a position with Governor Andrew Cuomo’s administration at the Empire State Development’s Western New York office!
Due to requirements of my new job, I resign, effective today, from my seat on the Erie County Legislature.
It’s an exciting era for economic development in our area, given the Governor’s vision and his commitment of state resources in WNY. These accomplishments are a credit to all levels of government, the private sector and our citizens.
My role as Director of Intergovernmental Relations will be to facilitate the discussions among these constituencies, to help shape the agenda, to develop and implement initiatives, and to monitor and track economic-related legislation and budget initiatives on current and future projects. I’m grateful to Governor Cuomo for this opportunity to serve the community and to work with his dedicated and talented team under ESD President & CEO Ken Adams and ESD WNY Regional President Sam Hoyt.
It’s been a true honor and privilege to represent north Buffalo and the Town of Tonawanda in the Legislature since 1997. It’s as great a privilege, thanks to the confidence of the Governor, to now serve a broader base of our region’s residents, particularly with so many exciting projects underway in Buffalo and WNY. The Governor has made the development and success of so many initiatives that are literally changing our landscape a priority and I’m thrilled to help continue the exciting momentum that Governor Cuomo is generating.
I look forward to continuing to serve the great people of Western New York in a new capacity and bringing new jobs and business to our community! Therefore, I look forward to working with you and my colleagues in the Legislature in my current role!
