Buffalo Niagara Honor Flight Set for Second Mission

On Saturday, October 29th, 43 Veterans will be taking off on the second mission for the newly reorganized, Buffalo Niagara Honor Flight.  There will be a sendoff ceremony starting at 7:00am at the Buffalo Niagara international Airport, with the returning flight arriving at 10:30pm.

The Veterans fly from Buffalo to Baltimore, Maryland, where they spend a day visiting the downtown Washington DC War Memorials, including Iwo Jima, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as the Vietnam, World War I and World War II Memorials.

Of the 43 Veterans on this mission, 28 veterans are from World War II, 13 are from the Korean War, and One is a Vietnam Veteran.  Each Veteran is accompanied by a Buffalo Niagara Honor Flight volunteer, many of which are new to the revamped organization.

The community is invited and encouraged to attend the sendoff at 7:00am and homecoming ceremony at 10:30pm at the airport, to help the heroes on this flight celebrate their special day.

The journey can also be followed with live updates on their Facebook page, www.facebook.com/buffaloniagarahonorflight.
