What is more, the professional ice hockey player acted as a US representative at the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics.
Patrick Kane currently earns $13.8 million a year, just like his colleague Jonathan. Furthermore, he and his colleague have signed similar contracts with Chicago Blackhawks back in 2014.
Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby, born August 7, 1987, is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. Sid the Kid was selected by the Penguins during the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. What is more, he is thought to be one of the best hockey players of all time.
Sid the Kid plays as a center and is one of the last NHL players to take advantage of the loophole we mentioned earlier – he managed to sign a $104.4 million 12-year contract. When the contract expires, Sidney will be 38 years old. At present, the Kid’s annual salary amounts to $10 million.
Anže Kopitar is a professional ice hockey player from Slovenia. Born August 24, 1987, the player made his tribute back in 2006. At present, Kopitar currently as center of the Los Angeles Kings, part of the NHL. By the way, Kopitar is the first Slovenian to play in the NHL.
In 2016, Anže Kopitar signed a 8 year $80 million contract with the Los Angeles Kings. This season, Kopitar will earn a base salary of $12 million.
Alexander Mikhailovich Ovechkin is a 33-year-old Russian professional ice hockey player. Ovi plays as a left wing and he is the captain of the Washington Capitals of the NHL. To many, The Great Eight is among the best modern NHL players.
From 2001 until 2005, Ovechkin played for HC Dynamo Moscow, part of the Russian Superleague. Curiously, his 13-year $124 million contract is still the richest in NHL history. Nowadays, Ovi earns $10 million a year.

On top of all, Subban has participated in 2 All-Star games over the past 8 seasons.
Subban was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the second round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. 7 years later, he signed an eight-year $72 million contract with the Canadiens. At present, the professional ice hockey player earns an annual salary amounting to $9 million.
