Cheektowaga Republican Supervisor Candidate Jasinski Thinks Racism Deserves a “Seat at the Table”

In the midst of all the asylum seeker chaos happening in the town of Cheektowaga, the Town Board’s recent attempt to appoint a woman to the ethics board, who had a confederate flag displayed at her Cheektowaga home speaks volumes to Erie County Republicans support of racist and harmful behavior by this year’s slate of candidates for public office.

In the middle of the public meeting, Cheektowaga Town Board member and Republican candidate for Town Supervisor Michael Jasinski showed his support for racism and asked why it doesn’t deserve a “seat at the table”.

It began as board member Nowak rightfully challenged the appointment of this woman to the town’s ETHICS COMMITTEE!!

Nowak: “Look, it’s protected speech and it’s not my intent to give someone a hard time here, but to say to put that individual on the board of ethics, I don’t think we should be. It’s really that simple for me.”

Jasinski: “What they do in the privacy of their own home, that’s their privacy, right?”

Nowak: “Absolutely, but we’re putting this person on an ethics board. It’s not a matter of private-sector employment.

Jasinski:Well, shouldn’t we allow all at the table regardless of their beliefs? Are we inclusive as a society yet?

The Confederate Flag is widely seen as a symbol of racism and hate. In recent years, there have been calls to remove the Confederate Flag from public places, such as state capitols and government buildings.

The Confederate Flag has been used by white supremacist groups for many years. These groups have used the flag to promote racism and segregation. In recent years, the Confederate Flag has been flown at rallies and protests by white supremacist groups, such as the Ku Klux Klan. It is a symbol of the South’s history of racism. The South has a long history of racial discrimination, and the Confederate Flag is seen by many as a symbol of this history.

Even though the vote narrowly failed, Town Supervisor Diane Benczkowski atrociously sided with Jasinski on the matter.

Shameful.
