The Curious Case of Tim Meyers Lawn Signs

As if the clown car that is this election season in Cheektowaga needed a bigger circus tent, Enter the Erie County Republican Committee, complete with a faceful of fresh clown paint.

If you actually follow or pay attention to any Republican candidates or committees around WNY, you may have seen this deleted content post on your Facebook wall today.

As it turns out, Republican Erie County Legislature candidate Michael Zachowitz’s had a pretty bad day. Even while word of his two Bankruptcies was circulating in local political circles, Zachowitz was dealing with an entirely different humiliating situation.

Wednesday morning, Zachowitz woke up to find about a niners worth of Tim Meyers signs on his front lawn. ( yep…you heard a niner in there)

Democrats actually had no idea what had happened until the Erie County Republican Committee (prematurely) posted about it on Facebook:

Before doing any due diligence (or candidate vetting for that matter) Republicans quickly blamed Meyers and the Democrats for, as they put it, “an absolutely childish stunt”.

A few hours later while people on both sides were scrambling to figure out what the hell actually happened, a different picture from the one Republicans were fingerpainting had started to emerge.

Suddenly, the Facebook posts that Republicans and MAGAts all across Erie County were sharing and talking about suddenly disappeared from the internet.

That’s because the prankster had come clean and, you guessed it… it wasn’t even close to who Republicans were blaming for the “stunt”.

For now, we will just call this prankster a “jaded close personal associate” of Michael Zachowitz.

Maybe Republicans can explain the rest…

Doubt it…
