The Womps are a rapidly blossoming Boston Folk, Punk, rock band with an improvisational twist. Since 2014, three enduring friends — guitarist Jason Lilly, violinist Kailey Zercher, and bassist JP Goldman — realized their shared undying love for live music, and since then have brought a taste of the silly, the surreal, and the head-banging extreme to any stage they step foot on.

The Womps played their debut show was in 2015 in Lakeland, FL at a memorial event called Music on The Promenade. From there, The Womps looked to spread throughout the Northeast playing shows in cities such as Boston, Hartford CT, New York City, Washington, DC and Providence, RI. They even had the opportunity to travel to Los Angeles to play a sold-out two-night residency at Genghis Cohen in West Hollywood. 2015 marked a sweet beginning for The Womps. Everyone was ready to take on the world.

On May 29th, 2016 The Womps released their first live EP, Lastly, We Hope You Live in a State of Constant Wonder, recorded in a barn in Martha’s Vineyard, MA. To celebrate the release, The Womps played a show at The Middle East Upstairs in Boston with their friends in Mitchell Lips, Tighticus Finch, Horse Mode and 2 Birds Band. This show was a new beginning. With recorded music in their arsenal, the band took their next steps towards spreading their name across the country.

In August, 2016 The Womps won the Indie Rock Competition at the Marshfield fair with a prize of $1000 and a slot on Frank Walsh’s show “Talk ‘N Tunes” as part of the Stoughton Media Access Corporation, and a future session with WATD radio. At the present moment, The Womps are busy writing music for their first full-length album.
