Fresh off a six-win, bowl-eligible season, the University at Buffalo football team announced it will kick off the 2018 campaign at home against Delaware State on Sept. 1. The Bulls released their entire 2018 football schedule on Thursday.
Fans seeking to purchase NEW season tickets for the 2018 season, can make a $50 deposit, securing them the first chance to pick their seat location for the upcoming year. Deposits can be made by calling the UB Athletic Ticket Office at 1-877-UB-There. Season ticket renewals will be mailed out late spring.
The season-opener against Delaware State will be just the second meeting between the schools and the first since the 1997 campaign.
Buffalo’s first road game will be at Temple on Sept. 8. It will be the first meeting between the teams since the Owls departed the Mid-American Conference following the 2011 season.
The Bulls will host Eastern Michigan in a key early conference matchup on Sept. 15 followed by a Sept. 22ndgame at Rutgers. It will be UB’s first trip to Piscataway since the 2007 campaign.
Buffalo will close out nonconference play at home against Army on Sept. 29. It will be the third straight year the teams will meet. The Bulls topped the Black Knights on a walk-off overtime field goal by Adam Mitcheson in 2016 and dropped a close 21-17 decision at West Point last year.
The final seven games of the season will be against MAC foes, beginning with a road contest at Central Michigan on Oct. 6. The Bulls will host Akron on Oct. 13 and then play at defending Mid-American Conference champion Toledo on Oct. 20.
Buffalo’s final four games of the season will be weeknight contests played on national television. The Bulls will host Miami (OH) on Tues., Oct. 30 on either ESPN2 or ESPNU followed by a home game against Kent State on Tues., Nov. 6 on ESPNU.
The Bulls will close out the regular season with a pair of road games. UB will play at Ohio on Wed., Nov. 14 on either ESPN2 or ESPNU. Buffalo will finish the regular season at Bowling Green on Fri., Nov. 23.
The Bulls return 14 starters to a team that went 6-6 and was bowl eligible for just the third time as an FBS program in 2017. The Bulls return a number of key players, including All-MAC wide receiver Anthony Johnsonwho ranked second in the nation in receiving yards per game (113.0) and third in touchdowns (14) in 2017 as well as all-conference linebacker Khalil Hodge who ranked second in the nation in tackles (154) in 2017.
