Erie County Unveils New Mural at Buffalo Convention Center

Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz joins Legislator Lawrence Dupre, artist Cassandra Ott, members of the Arts in Public Places committee, Convention Center General Manager Jeff Calkins, and personnel from the Convention Center and the Erie County Department of Environment and Planning to unveil Erie County’s newest public art installation.

The project features a large-scale mural by Buffalo-based artists Cassandra Ott and Chuck Tingley covering most of the Convention Center wall along Pearl Street.

The Public Art Act, adopted in 2023, set aside funds for public artwork of up to 1% of the county’s total construction cost to be used to commission, maintain and care for public art installations.
