Democratic socialists pulled off another stunner in Florida, as CNN projected state Rep. Angie Nixon will defeat retired Army Lt. Col. Alex Vindman in the Democratic Senate primary.
The race was the latest reminder of the Democratic electorate’s growing frustration with Israel’s war in Gaza after Hamas’ October 7, 2023, attack. Nixon has made the struggles of Palestinians a focal point of her campaign and has called for the United States to end its military support for Israel.
