The New York State Association for Rural Health (NYSARH), together with the Combined Entity of Common Ground Health–Finger Lakes Performing Provider System–Rochester Regional Health Information Organization (Common Ground Health-FLPPS-RRHIO), has published an updated Diversity Dashboard to make community-level demographic, social, economic and health data easier to access and use across New York State.
The interactive online tool provides place-based data at the county, ZIP code and census-tract level where available, consolidating sources including the American Community Survey, CDC PLACES, CMS provider files, the New York State Prevention Agenda Dashboard, and the New York State Opioid Data Dashboard.
The refreshed dashboard, first launched in 2023 and updated in 2026, streamlines previously separate views into two core sections—Current Statistics & Maps and Trends—and adds new content such as a community health and well-being section. It also uses Common Ground Health-FLPPS-RRHIO’s geoclassification framework so users can explore data by community type (for example, Rural, Rural – Population Center, and Rural – Transitional).
Carol Tegas, CEO of the Combined Entity of Common Ground Health-FLPPS-RRHIO, said the tool “helps put meaningful community data directly into the hands of the people who need it most,” while Jennifer Muthig, executive director of NYSARH, emphasized that the dashboard allows local leaders and advocates to move beyond broad assumptions and target planning and policy to local needs.
The Combined Entity, formed in 2026 and headquartered in Rochester, serves 14 counties across the Finger Lakes, Southern Tier and Western New York. NYSARH says the dashboard is intended for a wide range of users including local health departments, community-based organizations, health care providers, researchers, planners and grant writers.
