In 2025, Wegmans is changing the format to a two-day matching donation scan campaign in which Wegmans gives a $10,000 donation to FeedMore WNY (Buffalo only) and will encourage customers to match our donation. Cashiers will ask customers at check out if they would like to donate to match the Wegmans donation.

The idea of an allergen-friendly food drive came from a conversation Wegmans had with Head Coach Sean McDermott’s wife, Jamie. They have kids with food allergies and know the challenges families face, and those challenges are even greater for families facing food-insecurity as well. Leveraging the personal connection with the McDermott family can bring even more awareness to this need.
