WIkipedia Goes Dark

In protest against the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) Bill, Wikipedia has gone black for a day, just like many other websites.

The bill is aimed at combating issues like illegally copied films and TV content. The proposed PROTECT IP Act (PIPA) are aimed at checking piracy and ‘infringement’ upon intellectual property. As per the provisions of SOPA, sites carrying user-generated content will be forced to impose restrictions on the content being posted.
